Indications: sleep obstruction, tonsillitis, suspicion of malignancy
Anaesthetic time: 25 mins
Overnight stay in hospital required; one parent is allowed to stay
Back to school: 10- 14 days
Country patients are required to stay in the Metro area for 2 weeks after tonsillectomy
Medications on discharge:
- Pain relief – paracetamol/ ibuprofen/ oxycodone or similar
- Oral antibiotics
Follow-up appointment: usually 2 weeks after operation
